Dottie is the official Tonik mascot. Soft, bulbous and playful, this whimsical rotomolded character will brighten up any setting, indoor and out.
Inspired by soap bubbles, the sheep is shaped almost entirely out of intersecting spheres. A stylized character design that is fun for kids and abstract enough for adults.
Made of one-piece, rotationally molded, specially formulated, high density polyethylene, the piece is very durable and fully recyclable.
Designed at Karim Rashid Studio.
The Why
A cute mascot can help draw interest to a brand’s launch through emotional connection and storytelling #wheresdottie
The 30 Second Sketch
A quick and rough sketch depicting a bubbly sheep gave birth to the initial concept before being modeled in 3D.
The Geometry
The form, being complex for molding, was finessed in order to eliminate undercuts. A four part mold was used in production.
Line Extension
The bubbly formal language used to create Dottie the Sheep was applied to other outdoor furniture items including a bench and stool, a planter, and bubbly lamps.
