Cool pools need hot thermometers! These characters were designed for fun in the sun and good times by the pool, elevating the product category using a more sophisticated aesthetic without added cost.

The characters are stylized in a modern way, while still offering personality and humor. The Zen Crab loves his pool time meditation, while the Puffer Fish seems in a constant state of panic about his situation.

Character design can create an instant emotional attachment with the consumer, adding another layer of value to utilitarian products.

A Buoyant Exploration

Some of the other pool concepts developed for this project include a Pool Buoy floating LED light, and a Starfish floating bluetooth speaker. These objects represent different approaches to creating abstracted characters that formally connect with their function in some way.
